We are academically ambitious for all our students believing that all students should have a high-quality education. We want all our students to leave us as mature, independent learners who are ready to progress on to the next stage of their education.
Woodhouse College Partnership
We have a very close and valued relationship with Woodhouse College which creates excellent opportunities for our students after year 11. Woodhouse College is a very high achieving sixth form college which offers a wide range of courses; the college provides exceptional opportunities to progress on to university.
If students from Friern Barnet School meet the expected criteria for any courses they will be given priority admission into Year 12 at Woodhouse College. We also work together to make the transition from school to college successful.
Woodhouse College is a specialist sixth form college; students aged 16-18 study A levels in a wide range of subjects. It has excellent facilities and resources. It also has a well-established programme to prepare students for university.
Other Sixth Form Provision
We have developed very close links to other sixth form providers over the years. Students develop a range of interests and ambitions; some will take A levels, some will prefer to take a more vocational route. The impartial advice and guidance they receive at Friern Barnet School enables them to make their own decisions as to the best college to move on to. Some of our students move on to start apprenticeships and some students gain places at performing arts institutions.
